Chocolate Sun: All Natural Sunless Tanner

Using a sunless tanner is one of those seriously risky things that can go either so right, or so, so wrong! I’m always especially nervous when it comes to trying a new tanning product. Once I made the switch to a nontoxic lifestyle, I wondered how I’d ever find a sunless tanner that actually worked, but wasn’t packed with tons of chemicals. Luckily, one of my friends introduced me to Chocolate Sun about a year ago and I’ve been hooked ever since!!! And – fun fact – Chocolate Sun is the first ever organic sunless tanning lotion. According to their site …

“All Chocolate Sun products are free of mineral oils, dyes, lanolin, parabens, PABA, alcohol, petro-chemicals, sodium lauryl sulfate, and formaldehyde. They are non-comedogenic. Chocolate Sun products are never tested on animals and are vegan friendly. The sunless tanning collection uses the active tanning ingredient Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). Our DHA is derived from plant sources, is ECO-CERTIFIED, and is FDA approved. Chocolate Sun will remain committed to the pursuit of the finest organic, wild crafted and natural remedies for skin care and sunless tanning collections. It is our intention to promote natural alternatives for skin care as a lifestyle choice.” -Chocolate Sun

Now a year later, I’ll honestly never use anything else- it’s that good!! I’m shade Medium of the Cocoa Glow, which I use on my body. I almost always apply the lotion using a tanning mit so I don’t have so worry about those awkward blotches that can end up on your wrists and in-between your fingers. For my face, I use the Cocoa Illume Tanning Face Gel in Shade 2 (for medium to dark skin tones).
